All types of babyleaf lettuce grow well in both Terraseed ClassicTM and Terraseed ExcelTM. The crop is fast growing, high yielding and the seedmat gives outstanding weed control. Disease pressure from Bremia is reduced, especially under Terraseed ExcelTM, due to reduced soil splash and contamination.
Seeds are line sown in rows that are 7.5cm apart at between 400 and 600 /m2. |

Salad rocket is much more vigorous than Wild Rocket and is recommended for use in both Terraseed Classic TM and Terraseed ExcelTM.
Seeds are line-sown in rows that are 7.5 cm apart at between 400 and 600 per m/2. |

Wild Rocket grows well in Terraseed ClassicTM but a fertile, fine, well consolidated seed bed is needed. It is not generally recommended for use in Terraseed ExcelTM because seedlings are too small to support the weight of the plastic layer if it is kept too wet.
Some suppression of mildew and pollen beetle has been seen in commercial crops.
Seeds are line sown in rows that are 7.5cm apart at between 1500 and 3000 seeds/m2. |

Mache, Corn Salad and Lambs Lettuce |
|
Mache, Corn Salad and Lambs Lettuce are all the same crop and can be grown in Terraseed like any other babyleaf crop without the need for a sand mulch. We are currently working on harvesting systems to allow the crop to be cut below the paper layer in Terraseed ClassicTM.
Seeds are line-sown in rows that are 7.5cm apart at between 500 and 1000 /m2. A seeding machine is in development that will allow narrower rows and higher plant densities to be offered.

Spinach is one of the most inconsistent crops that we have grown in Terraseed Classic TM. The seed is very large and vigorous but it is very vulnerable to drying-out, over-watering and high temperatures. Consequently, it is not recommended for use in Terraseed Excel TM.
Seeds are line sown in rows that are 7.5cm apart at between 500 and 1000/m2.

A number of Mustard crops grow well as babyleaf crops in Terraseed ClassicTM including Golden Streaks, Red and Green Frills. These crops are very soft and feathery and are unlikely to be suitable for use in Terraseed ExcelTM.
Seeds are line-sown in rows that are 7.5 cm apart at between 500 and 1000 / m2. |
Sapiana is best grown in Terraseed ClassicTM under protection. Crops have been grown outside on our trial site but are very slow to germinate and grow.
Seeds are line-sown in rows that are 7.5cm apart at between 100 and 500 seeds / m2. |
